Vancouver Design Week

ROLE: SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGIST & PRODUCER

I took the lead on Vancouver Design Week's communication channels, immersing myself in the city's vibrant design scene and building a narrative centered on impact. My role focused on seamlessly integrating a diverse range of partners—from industry leaders to emerging visionaries—into our social presence. The result was over 100 carefully curated sponsorship posts, each tailored to specific platforms with custom designs, amplifying the reach and resonance of Vancouver Design Week’s mission.

The launch of the Design Landmarks initiative marked a significant milestone. By inviting suggestions from the design community, we posed the question, “What’s your favorite design landmark?” The accompanying social campaign sparked curiosity, uncovered hidden stories, and fostered vibrant community engagement. This initiative culminated in five sold-out, highly praised design tours that celebrated the city’s rich design heritage.

One standout moment was the relocation of Emily Carr University of Art + Design to Great Northern Way. What once seemed unthinkable became a reality, unveiling a striking architectural masterpiece that redefined the emerging False Creek Flats and ushered in a bold new chapter for the area.

At Vancouver Design Week, we aimed to do more than just highlight design—we encouraged the community to question, explore hidden layers, and reflect on the impactful landmarks that shape our city. This journey of discovery continues, and we invite you to share your favorite Vancouver design landmark and the stories that make it meaningful to you. Let’s celebrate the design that defines our city together!
