In 2017, Vancouver Foundation's research highlighted disconnection and the struggle to move beyond small talk in communities. To tackle social isolation, Cause+Affect enlisted me to lead digital and content strategy for On the Table BC. Recognizing the barriers to meeting new people, we delved into social isolation in Vancouver and the hurdles it posed.

Our strategy focused on adding value to conversations around social isolation, resulting in the 'Meet the Host' series. These stories introduced community catalysts working to connect people through food and conversation, bridging a connection to the On the Table BC platform designed to simplify event organization in communities.

This three-year project, pivotal during the COVID-19 pandemic, connected British Columbia. It boasted 6,500+ attendees, 850,000 online connections, and 4,369 people using toolkits to bring others together. The initiative proved that anyone can be a host—sometimes, all it takes is a gentle nudge and a good excuse to come together.
